About This Site: What We Check, How, and Who Pays for It

Who makes this site, and why

Alibaba Spreadsheet is written and maintained by a small independent team that works with China sourcing every day. We built it because the information buyers rely on is scattered and goes stale fast. Spreadsheets shared on TikTok and Discord point at agents that closed months ago. Agent reviews are split across Trustpilot pages with withdrawn scores. Fee tables disagree with each other. And the rules for import duty changed more between 2025 and 2026 than in the decade before.

The name reflects the two things people mean by "Alibaba spreadsheet": a list of finds to buy through agents, and a list of Alibaba.com suppliers to source stock from. We cover both, and we try to be clear about which Alibaba-family platforms need an agent and which don't. We are not Alibaba Group, Alibaba.com, 1688, Taobao or AliExpress, and none of them, nor any agent we write about, pays for or reviews our coverage.

How we check agents every month

For each of the 20 agents in our status board we look at the same four things, on the same day, once a month:

1. The agent's own website — does it load, does it show a maintenance or closure notice, does a pasted link return a live item?
2. Independent trackers — mainly rep.tools status write-ups and rankings, and KakoGuide and W2C Spreadsheet agent profiles.
3. Trustpilot — score, number of reviews, how many arrived in the last year, the date of the newest review, and the recurring complaints.
4. Official documents where they exist — Superbuy's fee page, Alibaba.com's Trade Assurance policy, court records such as the 2024 New York case involving CSSBuy.

When sources agree, we state the fact and link the source. When they disagree — ACBuy's working homepage against repeated closure reports, or Basetao's advertised 180 days of storage against a review that recorded 120 — we show both and say so, rather than picking the convenient one. This month that process produced 16 green, 2 amber and 2 red agents.

Verdict: If a number on this site has no source next to it or at the foot of its page, treat it as our estimate — and tell us if you think it's wrong.

How the product listings are chosen and cleaned

The product cards and the catalog come from repbuysheet.com, which holds 10,000+ products. For this site we pulled 600 listings and cleaned them before publishing:

Cleaning run on September 28, 2026. Listings too vague to describe (such as 'Design Hoodie') stay in the catalog but not on cards.

The photos are the sellers' own listing photos, not QC photos, and prices are the catalog's USD and CNY figures on the day we checked. Every card links to the listing on repbuysheet.com; nothing on this site is sold by us directly.

How this site makes money

Two ways, both disclosed on every page. First, the product cards are sponsored links to repbuysheet.com, labelled as sponsored on the page and for search engines. Second, some readers message us on WhatsApp to order without an agent account, or to have us ship orders to their own customers — that's the dropshipping service mentioned on the homepage. We don't sell advertising, we don't accept payment from agents for coverage, and an agent's status or ranking here isn't affected by whether it pays anyone a referral bonus.

We also don't use analytics that track you across sites, and the tools on this site — the landed-cost estimator, size decoder and link converter — run entirely in your browser. Our privacy policy has the details.

Corrections and contact

Agents change fast, and we will sometimes be behind. If you've had a parcel dispatched from an agent we list as amber, or you've hit a problem at one we list as green, we want to know — that kind of first-hand report is exactly what trackers miss. Send the details on WhatsApp, with a screenshot if you can. We correct factual errors as soon as we can verify them and note significant changes at the next monthly review.
